As of September 2026, Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport is connected to several regional and international hubs, while Somalia’s immigration system now requires foreign visitors to obtain an electronic travel authorisation before travel.
Where can you fly to Mogadishu from?
Current scheduled gateways include Istanbul, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Muscat, Entebbe, Djibouti and selected regional routes. Turkish Airlines links Istanbul and Mogadishu, Ethiopian Airlines serves Addis Ababa, several airlines connect Nairobi, Uganda Airlines serves Entebbe and SalamAir launched a new Muscat–Mogadishu service in September 2026. Somalia now uses an electronic travel authorisation
Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Agency says foreign visitors must apply online for an eTA before travelling. The official portal is etas.gov.so. The Somalia AIP also states that arriving passengers should hold a valid passport with at least six months’ validity from the intended date of departure and present a copy of the approved eTA on arrival.
